Speeding driver arrested For OWI And possession of narcotics

A South Bend man is facing drug and OWI charges after Indiana State Police troopers say they caught him driving 125 miles per hour.

It happened around 2:20 a.m. on Monday, Sep. 10 on State Road 2 near Spirea Trail.

The trooper who stopped Matthew William Lawrence Lusk, 32, suspected Lusk was under the influence of alcohol, according to an Indiana State Police news release.

The trooper says he found a glass jar with 19 grams of suspected marijuana, plastic baggie with 11 grams of suspected heroin, two plastic baggies with 6 grams of suspected crack cocaine and two digital scales during a search of the vehicle, the news release stated.

Lusk was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on preliminary charges of dealing cocaine or narcotic drug, possession of cocaine or narcotic drug, possession of marijuana, reckless driving, and operating while intoxicated.
