It’s 23 years in prison for the man who shot a woman in the parking lot of University Park Mall during an attempted armed robbery.

Joshua Villanueva-Rose, 21, was also charged with robbing the Walmart store in Mishawaka earlier that same day back in late March.

Villenueva pleaded guilty to armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and battery with a deadly weapon.

He admitted to police that he pointed a gun into the victim’s car window and it went off.

The woman who was shot survived. Two passengers in her vehicle were uninjured.
