Woman hospitalized after house fire in Elkhart

One woman was hospitalized after a house fire in Elkhart.

Fire crews were called around 5 a.m. on Sunday, Sep. 23, to the 26000 block of Lakeview Drive to find flames shooting from the top of the home.

Crews described the fire as stubborn and say it took about 90 minutes to put it out, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

It’s believed the woman taken to the hospital suffered smoke inhalation, ABC 57 reported.

There was no immediate word on the cause of the blaze.
