Two men hospitalized after being shot in Elkhart

Two people were injured, one of them seriously, in a shooting in Elkhart.

It happened around 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Sep. 25, according to the Elkhart Police Department.

Elkhart Police officers were in the area of the 500 block of West Marion Street when they heard several sounds of gunfire.

Officers located the scene which stretched from the 500 block of West Marion Street to the 500 block of Harrison Street.

Two male victims were located in the area.

One of the victims was rushed to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment of serious injuries.

The second was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Officers searched the scene for evidence and are talking to witnesses.

As of 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning, there was no word of any suspects or arrests.
