Big piece of AM General up for sale

A big piece of AM General is now up for sale.

Reuters reported on Monday, Oct. 1, that the St. Joseph County-based automaker is selling the military side of the plant.

Last year, SF Motors took ownership of the commercial side with the intention of manufacturing electric vehicles.

It’s believed the value of the builder of Humvee military vehicles at more than 2 billion dollars.

A few potential buyers have already expressed interest.

In September, AM General was awarded an Army contract for as many as 2800 ambulances, a contract that could be worth as much as $800 million according to company officials.
