Man, 18, injured in shooting on W. Western Avenue in South Bend

One man was hospitalized after a shooting in South Bend.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, in the 1100 block of W. Western Avenue.

South Bend Police were sent to the area after receiving a Shot Spotter notification, WNDU reported.

The victim, described by South Bend Police as an 18-year-old male, arrived at Memorial Hospital with a potentially life-threatening wound, according to South Bend Police.

The victim was taken to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment.

Through the investigation, it was learned there was a party in the area at the time before there were several shots were fired.

This case remains under investigation by the South Bend Police Investigative Bureau.
