“The shooting happened within hours of South Bend community leaders coming together to call for an end to violence in the city.”
Would that be hours BEFORE the shooting or hours AFTER the shooting? Well, at last the “community leaders” are coming together to talk about it. They’ll know what to do. They’ve been making important pronouncements since the 1960’s. Once the “community leaders” have their say, I’m sure that this time crime will resolve into tranquility. Their calls usually require taxpayer cash and somebody to administer it. Maybe some “community leaders”.
