A trial date is set for next year, for the Elkhart County woman accused of killing her husband, then going on the run.

Angelica Castillo, 40, pleaded not guilty at her initial hearing on Thursday, Oct. 25.

She was arrested in Georgia last weekend and extradited back to Michiana.

Her husband, Elder Castillo Sr., was reported missing, last spring, after Angelica had claimed he was in Mexico for a couple of weeks.

Castillo’s son found his father’s body wrapped up in the garage at his home on Hiawatha Street while looking for the source of a foul odor.
