South Bend Police investigating 3 shootings since Friday

The South Bend Police Department is investigating three shootings that have occurred since Friday, Oct. 26.
The most recent shooting happened around 3 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28 in the 1100 block of E. Mishawaka.
Police received word that a 19-year-old woman had been shot in the hand. She left the scene and arrived at the hospital for treatment.
Through the investigation, it was learned there was incident before the victim says she retrieved a gun from her car. She was confronted by security who tried to stop her. During the struggle, the gun discharged hitting her in the hand.
Officers also received a ShotSpotter alert around 1 a.m. on Sunday in the 1000 block of W. Colfax Avenue.
When police arrived, they found a 19-year-old man with a wound to the leg. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition and treated and released.
Officers also found two vehicles and a home damaged from gunshots.

South Bend Police are also investigating a shooting that happened around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, in the 500 block of N. Blaine Street.

When officers arrived, they were informed the victim, a man n his mid 20s, was taken to the hospital for a wound to the leg. He was treated and released.
