Fifth person apprehended in death of Felipe Gutierrez in South Bend

A fifth suspect wanted in connection with the May 2017 death of Felipe Gutierrez was arrested this week.

Police received a tip regarding the whereabouts of Devin Brantley, 16. They found him inside an abandoned house in the 1800 block of S. Douglas Street in South Bend.

Brantley was taken to the St. Joseph County Juvenile Justice Center.

Brantley is one of five people accused of being involved in the death of Gutierrez, which took place in the parking lot of the Charles Black Center in South Bend.

Four other suspects cases have been sentenced to time in prison.
