Three races flip in St. Joseph County with inclusion of absentee ballots

Counting began on more than 22,000 absentee ballots in St. Joseph County on Wednesday, Nov. 7, and with their inclusion in the voting totals, the outcomes of three local races changed.

Democrat Jason Cichowicz beat incumbent Republican Jim Fox as Probate Court Judge. Oletha Jones beat incumbent Stan Wruble on the South Bend School Board and Democrat Joe Taylor defeated Republican Troy Dillion for State Representative of District 7.

Officials are still trying to figure out why those votes were not factored in on election night.
