Tip leads to warrant and three arrested in South Bend

A drug investigation that started from a tip from a concerned citizen resulted in the Indiana State Police serving a search warrant at a home in the 800 block of Almond Court in South Bend. The warrant was served on around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, and resulted in three adults being arrested on numerous charges.

This warrant resulted in the seizure of suspected marijuana, suspected cocaine, oxycodone pills, and other pills preliminarily identified as legend drugs. Five handguns, one reported as stolen, were also located. Five children between the ages of 4 and 11 were also in the home. The children were released to a relative that did not live in the home.

Aaron Hope II, 32, of South Bend, was arrested on preliminary charges of Felon In Possession Of A Handgun, Possession Of A Stolen Handgun, Child Endangerment, Possession Of Cocaine, Possession Of A Narcotic, Possession Of A Legend Drug, Maintaining A Common Nuisance, and Possession Of Marijuana.

Mia S. Rankin, 30, of South Bend, was arrested on preliminary charges Child Endangerment, Possession Of Cocaine, Possession Of A Narcotic, Possession Of A Legend Drug, Maintaining A Common Nuisance, and Possession Of Marijuana.

Edward L. McCurry, 34, of South Bend, was arrested on preliminary charges of False Informing and a valid warrant out of St. Joseph County.

All three suspects were booked into the St. Joseph County Jail.
