Boy attacked by pit bull dog in South Bend

A boy was attacked by a pit bull in South Bend.

The attack happened on Wednesday, Nov. 14 on Diamond and Vassar Avenues, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

When police arrived they found that the dog had been stabbed in order to get it away from the child. The victim, who is younger than 8 years old, is reportedly recovering from non-life-threatening injuries, ABC 57 reported.

St. Joseph County Animal Care and Control is investigating the matter and the animal, which was not up to date on its rabies shot, was euthanized.
