New information regarding former Transpo leader’s alleged financial misdeeds

A state investigation revealed that a former CEO of Transpo used a business credit card for $2,500 worth of personal expenses.

The South Bend Tribune reports that David Cangany repaid the money last month. State investigators discovered that a lack of proper internal oversight kept Transpo from learning of the misuse of the card.

Cangany was fired last December for verbal abuse and creating a toxic work environment.

The St. Joseph County prosecutor is reviewing the state’s report.
