Boy, 17, injured in shooting on S. Albert Avenue in South Bend

South Bend Police have released more information regarding a shooting that took place just before 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, in the 800 block of S. Albert Avenue.

An officer patrolling the area heard the gunshots. ShotSpotter also picked up the gunfire.

On arrival, officers found a 17-year-old male with non life threatening injuries to the back and leg.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Through the initial investigation, police learned the victim was shot while walking in the area.

The possible suspects are described as:
• Black male, possibly late teens, wearing a hoodie
• Black male wearing a hoodie.
