Silver Alert cancelled, missing Nappanee girl found safe

UPDATE: The Silver Alert for Kilah Barr McLaughlin was cancelled on Friday afternoon, Jan. 25. She is reported to be safe.

ORIGINAL STORY: A Statewide Silver Alert has been declared as the Nappanee Police Department is investigating the disappearance of Kilah Barr McLaughlin, a 14 year old white female,  5 feet 7 inches tall, 120 pounds, blond hair with pink tips, and blue eyes.

Kilah is missing from Nappanee and was last seen on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 7:30 pm.  She is believed to be in extreme danger.

Anybody with information about Kilah Barr McLaughlin is asked to contact the Nappanee Police Department at 574-533-4151 or 911.

I know this is a sensitive subject but why is a 14 year old missing for over a month and its just now a silver alert for her?
