South Shore trains shut down for Wednesday and Thursday

The South Shore Line has announced a suspension of service for Wednesday, due to the conditions created by the bitter cold weather.

Officials with the South Shore say that a test train run in the early morning encountered numerous problems with the overhead wire.

After checking conditions throughout Wednesday morning, the decided that service would also be suspended on Thursday.

Service is expected to resume with Train 102 on Friday, February 1.
