A South Bend man was set to appear in court, Wednesday, after police say he stabbed a woman during a fight over a TV remote control on Valentine’s Day.

Officers were called to an apartment in the 600 block of West Western Avenue where they found the woman, with apparent stab wounds to an arm and leg, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

She told police that Edward Townsend, 59, stabbed her in the leg and twice in the arm.

She said the knife broke and Townsend grabbed a large butcher knife and threatened to kill her.

He was charged with one count of domestic battery.
