MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (AP) — A judge has refused to lower bond for a northwestern Indiana woman charged in the death of a friend who fell from a moving car’s roof.

Twenty-year-old Kayla Foster of Michigan City sought to have her $10,000 cash bond lowered, but a judge denied that request Tuesday.

Foster remains jailed on a reckless homicide charge in Tiffany Butts’ death.

Police say Butts died Oct. 30 after suffering head injuries in her Sept. 23 fall in Michigan City.

The (Northwest Indiana) Times reports court documents say a witness saw Butts climb atop one of two vehicles that began driving along a road, before Butts yelled, “Go faster … Go around him.”

The witness then watched Butts fall onto the pavement.

A message was left Thursday seeking comment from Foster’s attorney.
