Man arrested after police chase of stolen ambulance in Berrien County

A man has been arrested for stealing an ambulance and leading police on a high speed chase in Berrien County.

Fernando Rubalcava-Cartiel allegedly took the ambulance from a Panera Bread parking lot, on Wednesday, March 6, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

Police pursued the ambulance for about 20 miles on I-94 before it left the highway at U.S. 12 after a spike strip flattered on one its tires, ABC 57 reported.

Rubalcava-Cartiel faces multiple felony counts.
