Two people hospitalized after crash on M-60 in Newberg Township

Two people were injured in a three vehicle crash involving a semi in Cass County.

The crash happened around 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, on M-60 between M-40 and Wood Lake Road in Newberg Township.

The collision happened when a west-bound semi struck a vehicle which was turning left in front of it. This impact pushed the turning car into oncoming traffic, striking a eastbound vehicle.

The Tractor-trailer was operated by James Motycka, 52 yrs of Vicksburg, Michigan. Motycka was not injured in the crash.

The first vehicle struck was operated by a 69-year-old woman from Marcellus. She was airlifted to a Kalamazoo Hospital.

The second car was operated by a 42-year-old Jones Michigan woman. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
