Edwardsburg man recovering after being shot inside his home

A 57-year-old Edwardburg man was taken to the hospital after being shot in his home.

The shooting happened around 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home on  Starbrick Street near Tharp Lake Road in Mason Township where they say the victim was in his house when unknown suspects came to his house demanding to talk to him.

When the homeowner did not come outside, the suspects fired a gun into the house through his window, injuring the man.

The victim was taken to Elkhart General Hospital where his condition was stabilized.
