A Walkerton man was killed and woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on State Road 23.

The collision happened around 11 p.m. on Friday, March 22, near Roosevelt Road when a Mazda 6 driven by Daniel Pena Jimenez, 20, crossed the center line and struck a Volkswagon minivan driven by a 62-year-old Union Mills woman.

Jimenez was pronounced deceased at the scene. The woman was transported to Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

The St. Joseph County’s Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is investigating factors that led to the crash.
