existence of human remains, which were found in the 10000 block of McKinley Highway,
Osceola, in a wooded area. A person looking for deer antler sheds found the remains and
notified SJCPD officers.

SJCPD was dispatched to the area and discovered the human remains, which were skeletal and in an advanced state of decomposition .

CMHU was activated, per protocol, and teched the scene. An autopsy was conducted March 22, 2019, in Fort Wayne.

The remains were found to be female; however, the pathologist has requested that the coroner have a forensic anthropologist examine the remains before making a

Investigators are waiting on the results of that examination to make a positive identification.

This remains an active and ongoing CMHU investigation. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit at 235-5009.
