Buttigieg likes Chick-fil-A’s chicken but not its politics

NEW YORK (AP) — Democratic presidential contender Pete Buttigieg (BOO’-tuh-juhj) says he does not approve of Chick-fil-A’s politics but “kind of” approves of its chicken.

The mayor of South Bend, Indiana, drew laughs from the hosts of “The Breakfast Club” morning show on Tuesday for his answer.

Buttigieg, who is gay and married, suggested that he could forge a peace deal between the LGBTQ community and the Atlanta-based fast-food chain, which has donated millions over the years to groups that oppose same-sex marriage.

He says, “So maybe if nothing else I can build that bridge. Maybe I’ll become in a position to broker that peace deal.”

The question arose as Buttigieg discussed various ways people from different backgrounds could come together.

Peace deal? So Pete thinks he can broker a “peace deal” that would require chic-fil-a to just change their religious beliefs because he wishes it? Will this guy ever talk about anything that is real and take a stand on actual issues that pertain to the majority of the people in this country? Doubt it. Why is LGBTQ even a discussion? They make up 3% (if that) of our population. What a waste of time, money and resources to discuss anything related to this. Just another political pendant for the DNC to march around like a sideshow.

The so called Mayor is a fool and a flummoxer. Chic-Fil-A has no politics. They welcome and serve EVERYONE at their store because of their Christian principles of operation despite all the slander bandied about by the likes of the Mayor. They hire everyone regardless of their sexual preferences. He has a problem with the religious views of the owner of the corporation. That is different that claiming the corporation has views or practices the doesn’t like. I remind him that the company opened on their closed day many times to feed first responders. They opened to feed all those standing in line to give blood for the survivors of the gay nightclub killings in Florida. Stop denigrating an honorable company that serves great food just because you are incapable of being tolerant of other with views different from your own.

So what about their politics, they treat all with respect. That is more than most places.
