There was a fatal accident at the ArcelorMittal Indiana Harbor Plant this week.

It happened Tuesday in East Chicago.

Officials with the steel company said a railroad operator was fatally injured when the engine he was operating struck a railcar on an adjacent track. He’s been identified as Edwin Fleming of Schererville.

The accident happened at Indiana Harbor’s Number 7 blast furnace raw materials yard. The incident remains under investigation.
