Police: Bridgman abduction attempt was false report

We’ve learned more about a false report of an attempted abduction in Bridgman.

Police now believe the report was made up as the result of an unrelated disagreement with a friend.

On Tuesday, April 9, the girl told police that a man got out of his vehicle and grabbed her by the arm.

An interview with the alleged victim by police, along with further investigation over the weekend, has uncovered that the story was made-up by the girl.

The prosecutor’s office has yet to determine if the middle school student will be prosecuted for filing a false police report.
