A Syracuse woman is facing three counts of forgery after allegedly writing checks from her boyfriend’s account after he was killed.

The Times-Union reports 39-year-old Leslie Patrick is also charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing death in connection to the crash that lead to her boyfriend’s death.

She’s accused of having marijuana and opiates in her system when the crash occurred in Atwood in August of 2018.

Police say Patrick admitted to signing checks using her deceased boyfriend’s name for a storage unit and to purchase groceries.
