UPDATE: At 10:24 a.m. Indiana Michigan Power said crews have restored power to approx. 13,500 customers in the Greater Elkhart Area. They are working to restore the remaining 190 customers by noon.

ORIGINAL STORY: An estimated 13,500 Indiana Michigan Power customers in the South Bend-Elkhart area were reported to be without power on Tuesday morning, May 14.

The original reports included parts of the Fort Wayne area, but that was believed to have been a glitch on the map, according to an I&M official.

I&M crews estimated power would be restored around 11 a.m.

Drivers were advised to treat any traffic signals out as four-way stops.
