Indiana State Police Troopers dealt with a sticky situation on I-94 in Lake County Tuesday morning.

Three eastbound lanes of the I-80-94 were closed most of the morning on the left side of the highway.

It happened at Calumet Avenue in Hammond when a semi hauling containers with 41 thousand pounds of “Amber Honey” lost control and rolled over. Five of the containers came out of the trailer, and all but one of those opened.

Crews had to clean up both the honey spill and a diesel fuel spill. Troopers say the semi was entering the interstate from Calumet Avenue when his front axle broke, causing the semi to roll over.

The driver was uninjured.
