Hit and run crash injures moped driver in North Liberty

The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team is investigating a hit and run crash in North Liberty Tuesday night, May 14, that injured a moped driver.

Officers responded to the 64000 block of Oak Road near Potato Creek State Park shortly after 9 p.m.

Police say the collision involved a moped and a car that were traveling in the same direction. After the crash, the car left the scene. The driver of the moped, a 23 year-old Valparaiso man, was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.

Police are looking for a grey or white Volkswagen Passat with damage to the lower right grill and possible damage to the passenger side. Anyone with any information should contact the police.
