Man dies in crash early Monday morning in Mishawaka

A man died early Monday morning in a fiery crash in Mishawaka.

Police say it happened shortly after 1 a.m. at the intersection of N. Main Street and E. University Drive.

A witness told police that the driver crashed into an electrical box, causing an explosion that is also believed to be responsible for a morning power outage.

The driver’s identity has not been released but officials have said he was from Michigan.
