An 88 year-old LaPorte County man died of a heart attack this week, after scattering his late wife’s ashes on a lake.

The County Coroner says Ralph Myata fell off the dock into about seven feet of water Tuesday at Pine Lake.

A friend who was with him at the time, a retired doctor, told WSBT Myata was likely dead when he hit the water and did not drown. His wife passed away in April.
