Warsaw boy dies after being hit by a car

An 8 year-old boy died Monday afternoon after he was hit by a car in Warsaw.

Police say it happened just before 2 p.m. on Husky Trail at North Pointe Drive. According to first responders the boy was crossing Husky at the crosswalk when he was hit by a car driven by a 24 year-old from Tippecanoe.

The boy was transported to a hospital in Columbia City, where he later died of his injuries.

The investigation continues and WNDU reports that the police are working with the Warsaw Community Schools, where the child was attending summer classes.
