Renewed interest in former Fat Daddys property

A developer from Wisconsin is said to be interested in the former Fat Daddy’s property in South Bend.

WNDU reports that the historic buildings in the 500 block of South Michigan Street were torn down earlier this year, and now Commonwealth Development has renewed an offer of 45 thousand dollars for the property. That includes salvaged portions of the front facade of the old structures.

A project that would build an 8 point 3 million dollar four story building with 60 senior apartments for the site is still dependent on potential state income tax credits.
