Indiana wins lawsuit filed by IDOC inmate

Indiana’s Office of the Attorney General has successfully defended the state’s Department of Correction in a lawsuit filed by an inmate.

During the federal jury trial, the prisoner accused the IDOC and private medical officials of denying him adequate care for diagnosed conditions, including acid reflux. He says their indifference caused him harm.

The jury returned a verdict in favor of the state after hearing testimony and reviewing hundreds of exhibits.
