A Niles woman died in a crash in Elkhart County that involved three vehicles, one of them pulling a trailer.

Police say it happened Monday afternoon around 4 p.m. on Old US 20 west of County Road 3.

According to their report, 68 year-old Sharon Hedrick sideswiped the trailer and ended up in the oncoming lane, where she struck the third vehicle head-on before leaving the road and hitting a utility pole. Her passenger was taken to Elkhart General Hospital, as was the driver of the third vehicle.
