Police and St. Joseph County Coroner officials are investigating the death of a baby Wednesday evening.

WNDU reports that the police were called to a day care facility in the 500 block of S Illinois St. around 5:30 p.m. for a report of a 1 year-old child who was not breathing.

That child was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead at 6:12.

No other details have been released at this time.
