Prisoner walks away from maintenance crew detail in Michigan City

A prisoner was discovered missing from his work detail at the low-security housing unit of Indiana State Prison in Michigan City.

Around 11 a.m. Wednesday it was discovered that offender Travis Hornett of Waterloo was missing from the detail. He was working as an outside maintenance work crew member.

Hornett is a 39 year-old white male, 5 foot 5 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds. He began serving a five-year sentence for burglary in September of last year.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest and he is considered dangerous.
