Fate of South Bend abortion clinic in the hands of Court of Appeals

The fate of the South Bend abortion clinic is now in the hands of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

The court heard arguments Thursday about the possibility of a medication-only abortion clinic in the city operated by Whole Woman’s Health Clinic.

A prior legal decision allowed the clinic to open without a license. The clinic told the Court that the state would still have the ability to inspect and oversee the clinic if it operated without a license, and their attorney says the state is “moving the goalposts” in the clinic’s efforts to obtain a license
