A man has been charged with threatening terrorism and other charges after allegedly calling in a phony bomb threat at the Cass County Courthouse.

Two calls were made back around 8:45 a.m. on June 21.

The courthouse was evacuated for more than three hours while police and a K9 searched the premisis.

Detectives with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the Cass County Drug Team began an investigation and, last week, investigators traced the calls to Patrick Kyle McMeeken.

Besides the threat of terrorism, he’s charged with used a computer to commit a crime, conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice and being a habitual offender.

If convicted, he could be sent to prison for life.
