Human remains found in Osceola cemetery that of missing woman

Human remains found back in March in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Osceola are that of a missing woman from from Van Buren County in Michigan.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit received confirmation from the Indiana State Police lab that the human remains found in a wooded area in the 10000 block of McKinley Highway are those of Natily Nacole Franklin, 41, of Decatur.

Michigan State Police had been investigating her disappearance since November 2018.

Locally, the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit has been assisted the state police in the investigation which, still remains active and ongoing.

The Coroner’s Office is making arrangements with a funeral home to return Franklin’s remains to her family.

Franklin was reported missing shortly after being released on bond following her arrest in nearby Cass County for possession of meth and possession of a controlled substance.
