An inmate from the Elkhart County Jail was released by mistake on Saturday.

Thirty-eight year-old Anthony Allen Bailey was released and confronted in the lobby soon after by an officer. That’s when Bailey fled the scene and was apprehended a short time later by deputies.

He was being held on a charge of Operating a Vehicle Without Ever Obtaining a License, but police say additional charges are now pending.
