St. Joseph County honored for Fair fundraising effort

Hoosiers came together again this year to help those in need during fair season again this year.

Twenty-seven Indiana counties donated food during the FAIRs Care food drive effort, a partnership with Feeding Indiana’s Hungry and the Indiana Association of Fairs.

The Top Five fundraising fairs were honored at the State Fair, and St. Joseph County topped the list with nearly 46 thousand dollars in donations. Porter, Cass, Tipton and Hamilton Counties rounded out the Top Five.

FAIRs Care began the program in 2013 and has raised more than $139,000 and collected more than 177,000 pounds of food.
