Identity released of man shot and killed Monday in Michigan City

A man shot and killed Monday night in Michigan City has been identified.

ABC 57 reports Michigan City Police were called to the 3400 block of Salem Court around 10:45 p.m. There they found Maurice J. Goldman, 29, down on the sidewalk.

Goldman was shot in the groin, and later died after being transported to the Franciscan Alliance Hospital.

Police are currently treating the incident as a homicide investigation. Anyone with information on the shooting is being asked to call Detective Dave Cooney or Cpl. Tim Baker at 874-3221 ext. 1083 or 1075.
