Woman, shot in Mishawaka, flags down SBPD officer for help

A woman found with an apparent gunshot wound was taken to the hospital.

It happened just after 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sep. 16.

The woman flagged down a South Bend Police officer near the found the woman near the Cooper Bridge and Lincoln Way, however, investigators say she was shot in Mishawaka.

The shooting is believed to have stemmed from a dispute in the 1200 block of Farmcrest Circle, according to WNDU.

The search for the shooting suspect was underway as of early Sunday evening, WNDU reported.

Anybody with information is asked to contact Mishawaka Police, St. Joseph County Police or Michiana Crime Stoppers.
