A GoFundMe that’s been set up for the family of the gas station clerk shot dead last week in South Bend is nearing its goal. The goal was to raise enough money to send home the body of 24 year old Baljeet Singh. Singh came to the United States from India just 6 months ago.

He was killed by an armed robbery suspect at the Phillips 66 off of Lincoln Way West on the West Side. $15,000 is what’s needed to get Singh back to his family, and they raised 12-thousand of that in just the first four days.

The hope is to have his body back home to India by next week, but that depends on how much money they raise.
