One Man Shot in Benton Township

A man that tried to stop a fight involving juveniles in Benton Township is now recovering from a gunshot wound. It happened at the Blossom Acres housing complex Sunday evening.

Witnesses say that several juveniles had been fighting earlier that same day at a different location nearby, and the fight had spilled over into Blossom Acres later on. Police say that an adult family member attempted to break up the fight, and that is when he was shot. His wounds were described as non life threatening. Despite the circumstances the shooter is also believe to be an adult, described as a 25 year old black male.

Anyone with information should call police or crime stoppers.
