Lightning strike leads to fire at hotel in New Buffalo

Lightning appears to be the cause of a fire that broke out at a hotel in New Buffalo.

Images broadcast by 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57 show the blaze show the fire coming from the roof of the Harbor Grand Hotel.

Crews from as many as five departments were called to extinguish the fire around 6 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 27.

At the time, strong thunderstorms were moving through the region.

There were no injuries reported. Guests were moved to another hotel, according to ABC 57.
