Police still seeking suspect shooter in Warsaw

The search continues for a suspect shooter in Warsaw.

Investigators are looking for Russell Keigan Harty, 18.

Details are slim at this point “due to the sensitivity of who is cooperating,” according to Warsaw Police Department officials.’

Harty is wanted after firing shots early Tuesday morning, Oct. 8, on Warsaw’s north side in what is being told as a drug deal gone wrong. He is also wanted on a Kosciusko County warrant for a probation violation.

Detective Sergeant Brad Kellar says four to five shots were fired at 12:46 a.m. in back of the Harrison Ridge subdivision along Husky Trail, located across from the Canterbury House Apartments.

An investigation has been able to determine that three adults and one juvenile male traveled from the Fort Wayne area to deliver marijuana to Harty.

Harty allegedly produced a firearm during the transaction forcing all subjects to empty their pockets, and then fired the shots shortly after. The juvenile male was struck by one of the shots and was taken to a nearby hospital in Warsaw, later taken to Fort Wayne, last listed in stable condition. Another adult male was also struck by a bullet, but was treated and released at the scene.

Harty was already was wanted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office for an active Probation Violation warrant.  Anybody with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Warsaw Police Department at (574)372-9511 or call 911.

Harty is considered armed and dangerous.
